Nope - that's it. Not selling any more. Almost finished my nut & bolt 916 rebuild, detailed here:- http://ducatiforum.co.uk/threads/1996-916-rebuild.39749/ and I just can't justify having three Ducatis in the garage. Also have a '68 Triumph 650, and a '76 Yam TT500 project, and have a hankering to build one of these:-
Just to be clear to anyone reading this advert, that mileage isn't correct. I fitted a new speedo, so although the MOT says 1700-odd miles it's actually more like 18,000. I have a note of it somewhere and will add it to this thread.
Unfortunately it should probably be under £4500 given this one on here with under 10k miles at £4995 http://ducatiforum.co.uk/threads/ducati-996-biposto-1999.42676/ Sorry. Bob.
In a market which favours originality, a bike with as many non-standard parts as that one may struggle to find a buyer. My 2000-model bike has the 5-spoke wheels which many people seem to prefer, TIN-coated forks and the original frame paint. While I'm not denying that the bike you linked above has many plus-points for some buyers, it's appeal is probably more limited than a bike which is pretty much standard. I remain open to any sensible offer on my own 996. Cheers Eddy
Fair enough Eddy. I wasn't saying one was better or worse than the other, just that you 'asked' if yours should be under £5k given the mileage and I thought the other one might give you a steer on pricing. Yours looks great and obviously the market will dictate what the price should be. Cheers, Bob.
Ha ha....just the right-hand one. It was there a couple of weeks ago. I have either brushed against it in the garage (getting a bit tight for space in there) or it's gone AWOL during a recent ride. Got a good source for a replacement? Ta, Eddy
Totally agreed - and if it turns out to be £4500 (or even less) I'm not going to shed any tears. It is, after all, just a motorbike.
