  1. Hi there
Just looking at a 996R that is for sale but would like to know what was actually included with these bikes when supplied new, from what I can find out to date the following were included but any help would be appreciated

    Paddock stand
    Bike cover
The all important plaque in case
Set of carbon cans with ECU upgrade chip

some say the bikes only came with titanium cans and the carbon cans were optional but your thoughts please

    many thanks

  2. Hi.... I confirm you:
    -paddock stand
    -bike cover
    -50mm carbon exhaust with ECU
    nothing more.

  4. AFAIK the 996r came with the standard ally cans and the carbon one came with the bikes and an "open pipe" ECU. I can't recall ever seeing one out on the road with the ally cans fitted.

Pretty much the same as the 998r.

  5. yup, why my ally cans are sitting in bubble wrap in the garage cupboard :upyeah::D

  6. So did the 996R come fitted with alloy cans and the carbons ones also for one to fit if required or were they an optional extra, also yes there was the number plaque on the headstock as most of the specials but did it come with a commerative box with another plaque inside the box as the Foggys had ?

  7. true but newer 'specials' have numbered plaque even though they aren't limited production runs. and dont think the 996R came with boxed commemorative one.

  8. This might help you.

  9. But we all know those connotative boxes aren’t worth anything. The sexist gimp used to but and sell them with gay abandon

  10. It's the cherry on the cake or hundred and thousands that depends on your palate.

  11. Just as long as it’s not used to ‘coax’ a buyer into believe it’s something it isn’t…like adding a plaque on a top yoke..

  12. Smoke and mirrors ain't my gig, i'll leave that one for westminster.

  13. So the 996R did come with the red box and plaque inside, so just one more answer is required
Did the 996R come with alloy, titanium or carbon cans as standard ? Or with alloys fitted and carbons for customer fit along with ECU upgrade

  14. I would have thought that when placing the order with your local dealer back in the day perhaps alloy silencers as standard plus you paid extra for the Termi carbon cans on top.
