This is a composite fuel tank for a 998 etc professionally painted in red. Its construction is not to be confused with a leaky old carbon tank! It is the wider and squarer front as per the RS bikes! I have the same tank, it is very light and good quality. No chance of swelling or leaking. It will fit the standard airbox with a better fastening system at the front. Rather than the wobbly pin. As said, good price.
