  1. Hello ye fellow superbikers

The Ducati 998 is more than 20 years old now, short on horsepower compared to modern superbikes and has at least officially never won the WSBK championship. So you might ask yourself the question: How good is it on track?

    Let's find out:

  2. Nice Video.. that clutch is loud under power.. maybe it's the mic position, but my 996 one is not as noisy on power... ?

  3. Or it's because I had to put DB eaters into the mufflers because of the noise limit at Hockenheimring

  4. could be... but I still think it sounded odd. Hardly an objective observation as the recording would have been butchered by Youtube anyway.... we shall have to meet and compare clutches... ;-)

  5. The 996 SPS is nearly ready for play time again after a full strip and refresh.
Having experienced the effortlessly silky smooth V4 last year on track I would state that there is still a lot to be proud of in the Tamburini model and I cannot wait to get back out there and feel that raw grunt propel me to the next braking zone.
Thank you Donnie Desmo for a very thoughtful reminder of why I own these old bikes.

  6. That is an excellent idea
I once had an 899 and always preferred the 998 over it. The newer bikes are easier to live with, but the old ones have so much more character. That's not a cliché
