Ducati publish a huge, glossy catalogue listing a range of accessories for current models, covering exhausts, carbon, luggage, satnav, garments, etc etc. The same info is on Ducati's website. You have probably seen it. Trouble is each item has a photo from one angle only, with no scale, not showing how the item looks fitted to a bike. The text is mainly waffle, with a shortage of factual information like the dimensions, weight, materials, thread sizes, etc. So from the catalogue it is really hard to tell if the item is something you would want, or if it might be worth the price. Seems to me Ducati could sell a lot more stuff if they sorted this out. Maybe this is the kind of thing Audi may help with.
Agree with you Pete and that's sort of my point on the Multi Protection thread as well. It's a hard call to sometimes spend a couple of hundred quid on something on the off chance that it'll be ok. There's plenty of owners with different tastes and purchases on here so we could probably make up our own...........now there's an idea!? All the best, Mark.
Strikes me it's more a sort of coffee table thing, or take-it-to-bed bike porn. You're quite right though. This is typical of luxury marketing. You'll find watch websites are all form over function too.
In today's "discerning consumer" market place "form over function" will always win out. It's all about the marketing and making something that's rubbish look brilliant. How else can you explain the success of Coca Cola?
