Rumours that Marlboro don't want to renew their contract unless things improve very soon. I suspect financially Ducati Motogp might not be viable without them unless Audi dig deep.
I'm sure VAG can pull a sponsor from somewhere. At the end of the day they have enough of their own products to plug on worldwide television.
I wouldn't imagine they'd have to dig that deep. What's a few million to a company like Audi? Anyway, they've bought Ducati now, it must have been in the risk analysis. They must know that racing success is essential to the brand, so they should have a plan B.
There was the same talk on Eurosport France (I think it was) too. If it wasn't that, it was the Beeb, but pretty sure it was Eurosport. If I was a Marlboro honcho, I'd definitely think that the dismal failure of Ducati to get their bike to work wasn't worth my continuing to invest millions of my marketing budget in it. At some stage, someone is going to say enough is enough. They might be persuaded by Audi assurances, and they might not.
