Ducati Bike Price Changes

  1. Hello

I am currently writing a research paper on price changes and inflation and was particularly looking for information regarding some of the rrp changes on popular car/bikes since 2005 to now.

As an example, i remember that the rrp on a r1 in 2005 (most jap bikes around that time were retailing at 9k (often can be had on 0% at 8k. However this went up to 13k for the r1 (this was mostly due to weakening of the pound against JPY, However, the italian bikes never really had that amount of movements but also went up substantially.

If memory serves me right, the 2005 999 base model retailed around 10-11k, with the 1198 around 12k? The 1199 was launched around the 14599 or something and the v4 close to 20k.

Does anyone know or know where i can find all the rrp of the Ducati 999/999s , 1098/1098s to the v4 from 2005 onwards by year?

    Many Thanks in advance.

  6. Google a website called “wayback machine” . This has archived webpages going back over the years, I’m not sure how far but worth a try. I know people in the past have used it to measure price changes.

  7. Thanks guys - that has been really helpful. i think i have nearly everything but perhaps those that have purchase bikes for those years mainly for the 999 and 1098/1198 would remember what the rrp was - missing for 2010

Any idea where i can get uk ducati superbike sale numbers?

the 999 series - websites pretty list the price as static

    2004 2005 2006
    999 £11,250 999 £11,250 999 £11,250
    999S £13,950 999S £13,950 999S £13,950
    999R £18,500 999R £18,50 999R £18,500

A few websites lists the 1098 as 10,500 but some list as 11,250 - does anyone have any consensus? Also, i have nothing for 2010 - if anyone that has purchase can provide - would be much appreciated.

  8. With regards to your Panigale data...

For 2012 only, there was the 1199 Panigale S Tricolore produced and I'm pretty certain the 'R' variant wasn't introduced until 2013 which will hopefully explain the TBD for the 2012 R in your results...

The Tricolore retailed for £23,495 iirc

@Exige may be able to help with your 2010 data and the TBD you have for the 1098R... The lack of data may be because 2009 was the year the 1098 was replaced by the 1198 and the pricing remained comparable for 2010??

    HTH :upyeah:
