Ducati Dainese Leather Jacket

Discussion in 'Clothing, Gadgets & Equipment' started by Ape2Duc, May 5, 2013.

  1. Folks I'm after a Ducati Dainese Leather Jacket, I am a 44-45" chest, 34-36" waist, 6ft 2" and 15.5st will I need a size 56 or 58?

I can't get anywhere to try one on really and will hopefully be looking to buy used online. :upyeah:

  2. Add 4" to the chest, 4" to the waist, 2" to the height and 2 stone to the weight and I wear a euro 60 in winter and a euro 58 in summer. Unless you plan fattening up, I reckon you should be able to put a fleece on under a 58 and still have room. Andy

  3. I only want it for summer with a t shirt underneath, 56 may be ok then?

  4. Dianese are not known for there generosity when they make stuff for British men. A 56 should give you a little breathing room and 54 is very likely to be a little short. Andy

  5. There is no logic in Dianese sizing,i have 3 Dianese jackets, winter 58, summer 56 and leather60,i would say try befor you buy if you can.

  6. What build are you Simmy?

Trying on isn't going to be an option, this could be difficult!

  7. I am about 6ft,36 waist,15st 9lb(only weighed my self this morning)44/46 chest, for leather i would go for 58 for a snug fit but 60 if you want to pop in a back protector, could you pop into a bike shop and try a few brands on to get a idea of size, dianese tend to run a bit smaller than most

  8. Seems like we are quite similar in size, these are the jackets I'm looking at. (not necessarily in order of preference)

The problem is only the top one is available in stores now, the others are both past season.....

I can get the top one in a 56 or 58, the middle one is proving elusive at present and the bottom one is only available in a 56.

I think my order of preference goes 2, 3 and then 1, ain't that typical!

  9. Can you not find a dealer with them, go have a try and decide whether tinternt or dealer to buy? If you know the model be worth a call as if its old stock may have some tucked away

  10. Got to a shop today but don't stock Dainese, tried a Rev'It and an Alpinestars and needed a 58, so maybe a 56 in the Dainese would be too small!

What's everyone's thoughts on this? I know it's not leather but I like it.....

  11. Go for 58 leather jacket or 56 textile,if you are after ducati branded dianese just go to your local dealer,if not just mail order from them and if size is wrong you can always return.

  12. Ape2duc, used the table on the Dainese site
    http://www.dainese.com/media/catalog/sizing_chart_eng.pdf
and bought a perfectly fitting, hardly used Dainese 2 piece for peanuts on ebay. If you're not afraid of centimetering yourself...
2pointers, textile looks OK, but you just need to have leather in my opinion...secondly, Dainese sizes are rediculously small. Measure yourself and use the Dainese table.

At the risk of being off topic, I'm dying to try Pikes Peak decals formy red multistrada 1200 s. Already installed termi carbon slipon and small black windscreen (pikes peak look-alike by MRA). Your were investigating an Italian deal by Iwrap. Have you gone through with this? Any experience would be helpfull!

  13. Sorry just seen this, I never went through with the PP sticker kit in the end.

I have decided on the fighter jacket btw

  14. My build is very similar to yours and I have a Dainese size 56 leather jacket which is fine for the summer with a t shirt underneath and fits great. Hope this helps.
    cheers
