  1. Welcome to the 2013 Ducati Forum Bike of the year contest. Last year, Desmohog won the 470Four Trophy with this fine example

    desmohog.jpg

To keep it simple the rules will be very similar to last year

    • Ducati only
    • Only 2 pics of bikes per entry
    • Please give a nice overview of any mods done or say a few words about your bike(s)
    • No limited to number of bikes entered, Ie if you own two Ducati's you can enter both
    • Entries will be allowed up to and including 31/12/13, voting through January with the winner announced at the start of February 2014.

We will try and sort out some decent prizes and will get the 470Four Trophy (made by Duc904red) off Desmohog which will be presented to the winner.....hopefully

Please keep this thread clear of any discussion on the entries (just keeps it tidy - we all know I like tidy) and direct all discussion to the Bike of the Year Sister thread

    http://ducatiforum.co.uk/f16/ducati-forum-470four-bike-year-2013-discussion-thread-18107/

On or around 1st January, I will open up another thread for the voting

    Good luck and get entering

  2. My shed built Radical Pantah!

Built by my own fair hands from an Aluzzurra and a 750SS. The only thing I didn't do was the paint.

As people are listing modifications, here goes. Basics are I took the Pantah chassis and cut the back end off, including the twin shock mounts. I then set the geometry and welded the mono-shock mount into the Pantah chassis. The front end was removed and a USD front end was fitted, with single disc to reduce unsprung weight. This is plenty good enough due to a light bike. The motor was stripped and rebuilt as stock. The carbs are PHF36's with alloy bellmouths, with a home made rear inlet manifold to position the carb within the frame rails. The battery was relocated to behind the headstock, and a modified loom was made and fitted to re-position all the electrics under the tank to keep the look clean. Nothing electric can be seen apart from the odd lead from pick-ups etc. I fabricated a new fairing frame to allow the new fairing to be fitted along with re-positioned 750SS clocks, and an auxiliary power supply for sat navs etc. (It's built to be used, I rode it to Spa last summer). The exhaust is stock with cut down carbon cans. Adjustable clip ons are fitted, and the pegs are mounted to suit me, but can be adjustable if required. I can move it about to make it more tourer friendly, or track ready. There is so much more but this is the real basics. This all sounds pretty simple, but is the result of 100's of hours of head scratching, cutting, welding, re-cutting, re-welding, more head scratching etc, etc, in my workshop. I'm glad people like it!

  6. My 1996 Ducati 600 Supersport.

Bought this year as a first bike after passing my direct access at the young age of 48, not a great first bike, as its a pig to ride in slow traffic, but lovely to look at and great to own!

28,000 miles, completely standard, un-restored, un-modified and now becoming rare as there now only a handful that are regularly taxed and used all year round.

Granted Kitty Brooker should be behind the bike but there was an explosion .....

  10. Doesn't have the big budget or carved from the solid appeal of some of the great bikes already on this thread, but I'm proud of her..
The story began with a very strange ebay sale. The engine (848evo) along with the TB's , air box, stand, headers, injectors and loom, were listed with and end time of 04.17am.
I decided to put a cheeky bid in before bed and let the ebay/bike building gods decide!
Anywho...No other bids were made and the motor with all bits became mine for the sum of £800.

The scope was to build a cheap(ish) track bike, I have only participated in one track day before, but decided to give it a go.... Build it and they will come...

    Spec is fairly humble.
    848evo motor
    848 forks
    1098s brakes and M/C's
    748 frame
    Blue Peter air box
    Modified 848 loom
848 LCD dash and ecu (Thanks to Chris for the flash:upyeah:)
    Sigma wet slipper clutch
Modified 1098/848 sub frame with fairing/seat.
    Cheapo ebay track fairings
Nice chap on the forum rearsets
Stock 848 exhaust (for now) with lambdas and servo removed
    848 rear wheel
Anchor Brembo front wheel (for now)

All work carried out by me, 'cept the ecu flash and sub-frame welding.

Vote for Pedo... No, that's no right..He's been locked up...

    Vote for Pedro!

She's gone now....but this is the best bike I've owned, the one I've done most to but unlike some its mainly bolt on rather than build. Mostly to make the bike netter rather than fancy-dan looking

    ohilns forks
    ohlins damper
    ohlins TTx rear
    CJS custom set up, 139hp
    Polished system
    Akros
    Black instead of red wheels
    carbon seat
    carbon swingarm cover
    sigma slipper clutch
few titanium trinkets here and there for bolts
few other little carbon bits too

and being ridden how it should be...
