Bought a as advertised "GEL" seat for the multistrada from an online forum. Looking at the item I can only see foam under the seat....don't have the Multi yet so can't actually compare... Did Ducati ever make a branded gel seat? I know they make a comfort seat but I don't think it was advertised as a "Gel" seat..? Any views please...
Hi I think I saw the advert and I thought that Ducati did not make a gel seat I've had 4 Ducati seats now and never come across a gel memory foam yes but not gel So it must have been remade with a gel insert ?
The touring seat is not gel, it is just a different shape and foam density. This is imo an advantage, because gel seats in the summer are almost too hot to sit on if you leave the bike parked up in direct sunlight.
The guy I use for recovering and making seat covers for me (who is very, very good and reasonable cost wise) Digger Custom Motorcycle Seats will not fit gel and will do his best to persuade people to remove gel pads. Scald your arse when they've been in the sun for a while, retail heat and he's not convinced that are any better than good quality foam. I've had seats re-contoured by him and it's vastly improved them. The MTS touring seat is very good BTW.
What's wrong with standard seat anyway! After 2500 miles in 7 days Compared with my friends bandit and triumph 1050 my arse come off the least saddle sore! It's the most comfortable seat in my house/ garage!
