I'm about to start the process of moving over there from Mancunia. The Mutley is coming with me. Are there any recommended dealers, menders, whether bonafidi or independent? Anyone get out for meet ups, piss ups? As they say over there,"what's the craic?"
Dunno yet :tearsofjoy: somewhere in the general region of Roscommon, Galway, Leitrim borders. North of Athlone is where our Maude fancies. We've got family and friends in Galway and Dublin so in between,,,ish.
Yoozy, I am new to the Ducati world myself, living in Limerick. Apparently the best guy/place to go to for servicing is a guy called Robbie @ Mototechnic in Kimmage, Dublin. 2 guys in bike dealers I know/have dealt with down south have advised me not to let anyone else near my Ducati! There is a also a dealer in Dublin called Rosso Ducati, I have no experience with them. There is a Ducati Owners Ireland group on FB too that have regular meetups and can advise.
Live in Dublin myself. Robbie in Mototechnic + 353 1 490 8947 is based in Dublin. Welcome to the Frontpage He was the original Ducati tech guy before Ducati switched traders / dealership here in Dublin a couple of yrs ago. A lot of experience and has his certs / software. I use him for all my ducks. Sound out and handy at a norton rebuild or two and cafe racers to boot. There is also the official dealer, Rosso Ducati in Dublin, i bought my Fani off them. Store is doing well. In addition you have Millsport Ducati in Northern Ireland - great guys. And there is also another independent chap up north called Jay, he was Moto-Tech, Motorcycle Service and Repair Centre Dynojet Tuning Just fyi, prces in Dublin are getting outrageous again, we didnt learn the first time Roscommon / Leitrim you will get a decent enough property for 80/100k euro Id imagine.
Up the Dubs  thanks for the info. I've seen Dublin change a fair bit in the 3 years the daughters been over there. Sometimes, I think we could be anywhere in the world, most cities seem to be morphing in to one same thing. Out of Dublin it's a different place all together. She's in Swords and the rent is outrageous, never mind the price of a pint. A part of the reason for coming over is she can move in with us and commute, save some dough and get her own place. She'll never come back over here. We've narrowed the search down to roughly Athlone and above. House up for sale officially today, digs booked for next week and 3/4 properties to view. Hopefully we sell quick and don't get too many dickheads touring round our house. What we want, and can acomfortably afford over there would cost near a million here. Mental.
There's a guy up around lurgan in the north, works from home , he used to have a dealership years ago.
+1 for Robbie, great bunch there and very helpful. good few of us Ducatista on biker.ie as well. Nice bunch of lads, just dont say "car"...called cages on there.....:tearsofjoy:
Deposit down on a place near Ballinasloe. It's got a shed,, a fookin huge shed. A bikes n barby n beer party shed extraordinaire.
Yoozytours - Biking holiday tours in Ireland coming soon, courtesy of the Manc lad... Get the Guinness on fella
I've landed lucky, really lucky. The local is even named after me, the owner is a bike nut and theirs a decent set of bikers in the area. Next year first job is a proper piss up in me big shed
