Has anyone had any joy with the app? The bike says i am connected and used it the 1st time i ever connected the bike and worked fine, now it says to connect the app to use the tracking, the bike says its ok and so does the phone but......... i have uninstalled and reinstalled the app and repaired to bike but doesnt make any difference, surely Ducati must be able to get bluetooth working! Or is it an Italian thing!
The app has been getting a lot of negative feedback and I think you have discovered why. Hopefully an update to address the bugs will be forthcoming soon. Andy
It’s pretty crap, I’ve never had much success with it. Also the general Bluetooth interface with the phone, headset and music has never worked well for me, very random Also concerning given the Sat Nav integration on the new V4
agreed ... and I find it somewhat ironic, as Ducati started out as an electrical OEM for Marconi ... ;-)
Totally agree, complete waste of time, I don’t bother using it at all. It does make me wonder how good the new system will be, I’m a relative expert with garmin but if anyone here knows Sygic I’d love to know it’s capabilities. Can you create 6 days of 20 waypoint map routes with shaping points etc? And pick up routes part way through? I’ve asked Ducati dealer, they have absolutely no idea, so the answer to “does the Ducati satnav remove the need for a Garmin etc” was, you’d have to try it.
There are a few tutorials, tips and FAQs on the Sygic website. Seems better than I anticipated but might need workarounds
We don’t hate it We don’t understand it / or it’s purpose / or how it makes sense Or why Ducati didn’t call it the Grand Strada ( GS for short )
I have been using sigyc for more than 4 years, hundreds and hundreds of routes can be done with a maximum of 40 crossing points per route, if you need more of these points, you can do several in the day, for example July 2 A, July 2 B etc. Along with the my rooute, it is as complete as the basecamp, but much easier to use, and if you have points of interest, waipoint etc etc, even by colors and categories. Finally, I have traveled more than 50k kilometers throughout Europe with this program on my iphone 7 plus, using it as a browser while listening to music, along with my schuberth helmet, first with the c3 pro and the SRC and now with the sena sc1 advance In a normal c4 first and now in a c4 pro carbon, no problems to date, in the car I use it with an ipad air 2, and without problems anyway. I also say that the ducati app of my multi DVT, I do not use it, I have directly linked to the iphone with the helmet, so I do not know how it will work through the multistrada v4 tft, but if it fails, keep in mind that it will be a ducati integration problem, not sigyc
If you pay for it. The free app lacks functions just like the free MRA lacks many of the functions you get when you pay for it. Andy
I bought it in an offer for 15 euros, first I signed up for the app for free and then offers began to arrive to make me payment, and in the end it cost me 15 euros for a lifetime with 4 updates a year and with fixed traffic radars etc. the maps are very the same as tomtom, or garmin, and as complete as these, it can also be used offline, and does not waste data
It uses a TomTom platform which why it will look familiar. €15 is cheap and as it works for you, good value. I've finally got my head around Basecamp after a year and a half faffing around and will stick with it. At my age, getting your head around modern technology is frustrating. Andy
I have asked Sygic about importing .gpx files in the new V4 apparatus. I got this answer: quote Hello xxxxx, Thank you for contacting Sygic. Unfortunately, importing routes from external sources is not supported from our side in the current Sygic app versions. It is not possible to use downloaded or created route files (e.g. in the .GPX format) nor any 3rd party software for importing routes (e.g. ITN Converter). You can plan a route online using our own route planner tool and then send it via email to your device which has Sygic GPS Navigation by following the guide we prepared on our help website: https://help.sygic.com/en/sygic-gps...-to-use-the-route-planner-tool-on-the-website. You can add waypoints. To do so, please follow this article: https://help.sygic.com/en/sygic-gps-navigation-for-android/tips-tricks/how-to-add-waypoints If you have any other question, or need any further assistance, just reply to this message, I’ll be happy to help. Thank you very much and have a nice day! Best regards, xxxxx Customer Support Specialist unquote
Meanwhile I understand the V4 dashboard is a Bosch device. Developed by Bosch for BMW, Ducati and Kawasaki. The Rever navigation app should work (integrates) with the Bosch device like other apps. Rever has the possibility to import .gpx files. This could then be a work around to use your existing routes respectively to use Garmin Basecamp to plan your new routes.
The screen is a simple chromecast, what it does is duplicate the screen of the mobile via bluetooth or wifi, who really receives the information is the mobile, I do it every day, I pan the trip in My Route, and send it to Sigyc, I imagine that what you see on the screen is really a "mirror"
If you read page 142 onwards it will explain. What is interesting is they are using WiFi rather than Bluetooth to connect which should mean a smoother faster connection. USB is purely for charging. https://downloads.ctfassets.net/oif...5f7d080/OM_-_MULTISTRADA_V4S__-_EN_-_MY21.pdf
