Hello My name is Ivan, I still don't have Ducati motorcyle but I do ride a BMW also Honda VFR1200 and I was always keen on getting Ducati. I am from Bulgaria and I live in a small town Silistra near Danube river. It's very old down, Roman Empire was here before and now bulgarians, enougth history I wanted to represent my self and to ask some questions. My proffesion is related with cnc machines I have a small workshop and as a start up company my mission is to find broken part and redisign them to work again with more span life. Recently I saw that a group of Ducati 800 motorcycles has this plastic pulley issue on the throttle body that brings the owner to that point , where he has to spend too much money on new throttle body due to single broken plastic piece. I would like to make a thread to present a solution that will increase the durabily of the throttle body.If you are interested about this , leave a commets below. I was searching for thread that talk about a problem related with the throttle body of Ducati Monster 797, Scrambler 800 and Scrambler 400. I will leave a list with all models I'm aware that use the same throttle body with part number 2428100 1A . As I said, I'm trying to fix things or upgrade them and I will show you a fix. So I bought a throttle body to show you what I want to explain and also to warn you that this is kind of dangerous things to happen while riding. Also I will include the steps shown on pictures just to see briefly how it's made and a youtube video you can watch it by clicking here that shows the whole process. My opinion on this failure is: Plastic pulley, actually isn't a failure. I'm sure that the engeneer decision to be plastic instead of metal, is well calculated to break at some point. The throttle body I purchased is from Ducati Scrambler 800 Cafe Racer 2019. The part is made from aluminium alloy and them it's anodised as you see the aluminium is colored just for aestetic point if view. Scrambler 2016 (Icon / Classic / Full Throttle / Urban Enduro / Italia Independent 800 / Flat Track Pro 800 ) Scrambler 2017 (Cafe Racer / Classic / Desert Sled / Full Throttle / Icon ) Scrambler 2018 (800 Brazil Special Edition / 800 Icon / 800 Full Throttle / 800 Classic / 800 Street Classic / 800 Desert Sled / 800 Cafe Racer / 800 Mach 2.0 ) Scrambler 2019 (800 Icon / 800 Full Throttle / 800 Desert Sled / 800 Cafe Racer ) Scrambler 2020 (Cafe Racer 800 / Desert Sled 800 / Full Throttle 800 / Icon Dark 800 / Icon 800 ) Scrambler 2021 (Nightshift 800 / Desert Sled Fasthouse 800 / Desert Sled / Icon Dark 800 / Icon 800 ) Scrambler 2022 ( 800 Nightshift / 800 Desert Sled Fasthouse / Desert Sled / 800 Icon Dark / 800 Icon / 800 Urban Motard ) Monster 2017 (797 / 797+ ) Monster 2017 (797 / 797+ ) Monster 2019 (797 / 797 Plus ) Monster 2021 (797 )
Wow great first post. Perhaps there's a "send your pully in to be replaced" service there... nice work
Hello Serjames Thank you, I appriciate your compliment! . You can do it in your garade if you want or just give it to the local server expert to replace the plastic with metal ( aluminium) cam.
