Ducati Monster750 i.e. 2002 only 1300 miles - keep it or sell it?

  1. Hi guys,

I am a now retired biker. My mum used to ride bikes right up until 2 years ago when she was involved in a rather harsh collision, she was hospitalised and is still having therapy for her recovery. At this point I decided to hang up my biking boots and move on. Most enthusiasts will say that this is merely a setback and that it shouldn't put me off riding my bike and I tend to agree, but it has, and unfortunately I wont be getting back on a bike for now.

I own a ducati monster 750 i.e. and have done so for the last 6 years. I am the second owner and it has covered a total of 1300 miles. It has been stored for the last 2 years due to the usual other life commitments and I now face a bit of a dilema.

I almost cant let go of the bike. Its immaculate in its condition, and I don't think (I could be wrong) that there are many other monsters out there that are in this kind of condition and with such low mileage for the age. I have all the original documentation and history, all manuals etc that came with the bike when it was purchased from new. It even still has the original tyres which show the lack of use.

What are your thoughts. Will this machine appreciate or would I be better off selling? Any advice you guys could give me would be much appreciated as i've been out of this game for a while.

    Thanks in advance.

    Rob

  2. If you need the money then sell it. If you don't, then don't.

  3. I had an off 2 years ago and swore never again would I ride
Well I bought an M600 monster and I'm about to try again
Life is short and anything can happen to you in day to day life
    Risk is everywhere
If you can keep and think about returning even if it's a bimble around going slow
That way you can keep an eye on all the other road users

Anyway your choice keep the bike in your house to look at every day :)

  4. Indeed, but if you do keep it, you need to use it
