Ducati Performance 848 Slipper Clutch Problems

Discussion in 'Technical Help' started by Pricey67, Jun 27, 2014.

  1. Hi guys,

I recently bought an 848 (ex Trioptions bike) and took it out for its first run at Donington yesterday. Unfortunately I had problems with my (wet) slipper clutch - continuously slipping under acceleration.

I intend on stripping it down and inspecting it over the weekend but would like to know if anybody has any advice and installation sheet they could email over to me?

    Any help is much appreciated.

  2. Did you have any joy with your clutch because it sounds like the same problem I have been suffering with on my hyper I think they operate the same system.

  3. Hi Chris,

Yeah all sorted now mate...the previous owner had fitted the clutch pack wrong. The friction plates were down to the bone so that's what caused the slipping - I reckon the 2 were related.

Have you stripped yours down yet? I'd check the friction plates with a vernier...I've got the min depth measurements somewhere so give me a shout back if you need them.

    Good luck!

  4. Hi, I have decided to strip mine down in the next week so I might need to pester you for those measurements, the only thing that I was wondering was do I really need the clutch holder tool or the pins to remove the clutch or reinstall it.
    Cheers

  5. Hi Steve, I have just bought a 2012 848 Evo Trioptions race bike. It has two mode buttons on the left side and a Ducati GPS receiver. Have you any knowledge of this set up and whether lap times can be recorded please?
