Just a few random pics of my Superlight rescue..... Had it since June 2010. It was very neglected. Exhaust and body work damage. Exhausts badly scratched both sides ( but I sourced a mint set and will be using a set of Aluminium BOS pictured), engine badly corroded and severe flaky paint. Frame starting to rust in spots. Carbon severely knackered and cut back and an oil leak from the engine. Leaking clutch fluid from the slave cylinder had taken off the (flaky) engine paint. Head stock badly corroded. Tick over was 2,500 rpm then nothing, alternator shot and electric wiring loom has had some bad DIY bodge job. Sourced second hand red SS panel that are now yellow and imaculate! Forks needed a complete rebuild too....But other than that I could see the potential to save an S/L from the scrap heap....! The recent strip down and rebuild that has been done is by Carl Harrison @ Harleston. I am not mechanically minded like lots of you are so had to have an expert do this bit. But I have had fun sourcing parts from various places and sold my scooter to fund the final winter stage and it should be home in the next few days I hope. OK so it isn't factory original but the bike when I got it wasn't either as it was shite to be honest. It's a keeper now. I hope you like it.
Here it is the day I bought it. It may look good but the reality is something else. And the respray photo of the bodywork that was once knackered and red......
