I spoke with Ducati Aylesbury about he Ducati top box, with mounting kit and colour coded lid, plus the Ducati 4 litre tank bag that clips on the filler cap and the little power supply that goes inside. Individually they come to just over £800, but as a "kit" i.e. the Urban Kit they are £700. Expensive I know, and I'd consider a used set of a fellow member if one was for sale in excellent condition. (I know its all basically Givi made and a bit cheaper to buy without the Ducati logo) One question, can I power up a Keis heated vest from this power supply straight out the tank bag ? (I don't know the current draw off the vest or the max current supply of the power pack) Cheers
The filler mounted tank bag comes with a 4 way (I think) USB power hub inside, so can be used for a number of things really. Ultimately it will depend on the power the vest draws and the size of the fuse on the bike whether it will stand it or not, but if it has a USB connection on the vest, it likely indicates it is a low draw item. As you say, that is a LOT of money for a relatively small amount of storage. I found my Ducati tank bag new online, but didnt pay anything like what Ducati ask. Givi (who make it) also do a very, very similar unit and that is also cheaper. I can see some Ducati tank bags on eBay for just under 100 quid from On Yer Bike who are a Ducati dealer https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ducati-P...946187?hash=item4470d77b8b:g:j3gAAOSwwXBf~H6A or https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Genuine-...740162&hash=item42089dba96:g:ytoAAOSwu2lf~Wka A Givi unit example here https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Givi-ST6...714172&hash=item4afeaf93b7:g:OKkAAOSw2x1XLgNK The top box IS also made by Givi, but comes with a Ducati lock and key. Those can be converted to fit your existing keys but its fiddly. If you are happy with more than one key, just buy any Givi box and mount.
