Talk to me... Excited enough about this yrs WSBK. Obviosuly hoping for Ducati to do better and hopeful for Lavery, but on an aging GSXR1000 he will have to work hard, even though its only a stepping stone for him to Suzuki's motogp effort. Back on topic. You've got Chaz Davies & Davide Giugliano. Giugliano would not be my most favourite rider ( he's too loose, wreckless sometimes ) but how do you think he will perform? What about Chaz, big lad on a small bike ( not doubting his capabilities ). As for the 1199r Panigale, anyone know what spec it will be - the biggest changes to the bike over last year? Hard to find any real info yet on the bike and what plans Ducati have.
I think the Panigale will make a noticeable step forward this year, I expect it to be a top 5 contender every weekend, and maybe Chaz can get 3-4 podiums on it. The Suzuki, I am really skeptical tbh, I think it needs serious investment and they keep going on about electronics but they were something like 12MPH down at most circuits (I read) and you just can't make that up because they all have good chassis. I think you will see a Suzuki with that system Kawasaki have where it runs on 2/3/4 cylinders in corners etc, rather than tame power, why not only use it when you need it etc, but the Kawasaki electronics are seriously advanced! Good luck to both, I think the shock will be if Aprilia can manage the reduced engine quota. Rumours had it that Biaggi used 30 engines in a season, that is just silly!
Based on what exactly. thats like saying the moto gp bike will make a noticible step forward. Without anything to suggest otherwise id say at this time there is nothing other than a rider change to suggest things will be any better
Fair enough, I guess I am working on the fact that they seemed to make a big step forward when they moved the tank etc but by that point the riders were broken. However they have data for all the tracks. Hey I'm not a racing expert! Just my opinion.........
From Crash.net re winter testing. Davide Giugliano confident of 2014 WSBK prospects on Ducati | WSBK News | Dec 2013 | Crash.Net
I'm hoping and expecting an improvement. They've had enough time to sort the thing out now. Giugliano has experience with ducati twin and I'm hoping Chaz will gel with it but both riders are a bit hot/cold. I think Ducati got a couple of reasonable riders considering the bikes track record. There is also Nicola Canepa on Evo bike run by Althea, they might do well considering its and his Superstock results.
Be nice to see a few more people vying for wins always adds to the excitement gets a bit boring just looking at the same bike at the front all season.
if the pani doesn't go forward - which it will - , that at least the others will go backward.. if they can no longer burn 4 engines on 4 bikes per weekend, it's bound to show up in speed or reliability.. APE will suffer from that and from the fact that GIGI is no longer there... Beemer wil suffer as it's no longer a Factory outfit.. and let's see how Sykes does in qualifying wihtout his 15 lap Q -special engine.. the most interesting to watch may be the Althea EVO bikes ...
Althea Racing's Bevilacqua confident of Ducati prospects | WSBK News | Jan 2014 | Crash.Net Real shame they can't test before 1st round.
I wish all the teams well across all series. I just want to be wowed and entertained from flag to flag. Too much over the past few years its been predictable
I wasnt aware of the "special engine" sykes had....Hmmm... But i think aprila went through appx 456,789 engines last yr  It all sounds positive. I only hope that budget doesnt hamper them too much ( IF it is an issue ). I wouldnt say unpredictable but a little spark was missing. This yr is gonna be a corker, I can feel it !
I think Lowes will shake them up, probably with hard racing in the first half til his tyres run out due to over riding but they'll know he's there
it doe sadden me but………you still cant polish a turd in either gp or web…the bike is out of touch with the rules and competition
