Ducati's And Light Weight Guys?

  1. Ok so I'm interested in a 1098/1198 for my next bike.
I've sat on a few different models today and none even budge when I sit on them, like zero sag. I'm 71kg without gear. So I'm interested if any of you lighter guys have struggled to find a good suspension setup? Or do they need to be modified to accept lighter riders as in new springs etc.

  2. As in they need to be?

  3. The front is built for a 10st Italian, the rear for him plus his 15st bird

  4. The suspension.

  5. So front forks I should be able to work with but the rear will need a new spring at least?
If anyone has been through this I'd be interested in what you did. I'm not too hung up on an s model as it will be just for the road so adjustability would be key over the make of components.

  6. Start with the spring and work from there. Forks can porbably be worked with by oil, air gap and pre load

  7. RT - Digital Product Search

Have a look around here, there are options to add your own weight and it will recommend springs for both road and track use

  8. Awesome link . Recommends 7.3kg spring and standard is 8.7kg
