  1. Given that there are loads of them in the NE, in and around Aberdeen who on here is in Scotland and fara aboots are you?

Just curious if there are any north of the border meets or runs organized on here.

  2. I,m in East Lothian ,Tranent. Panigale Tricolore S , :upyeah:not sure about runs or meets but i,m always up for a blast into the Borders

  3. Try Ducati UpNorth...

  4. Arbroath here

  5. Glasgow here.

Will be a Ducati owner ( multistrada GT on 14th July when I return from holiday and its picked up. :)

  6. West Lothian here :upyeah:

  7. I live in Kilsyth, but work up in Aberdeen so the bike spends most of it's time in Aberdeen with me. I'm out most nights of the week lately if the weather is decent after work.

It still amazes me that there's no Ducati dealer up here given the amount of Ducatis and money in the area.

  8. 'Dumfries' here!

  9. North Ayrshire, 2012 Mutley and 848 SF. Try Facebook loads of bike groups in Scotland or try Scottish Ducati Club

  10. Shirlaws used to be but dropped the dealership, Ducati wanted single brand dealership, to a service center but have stopped that as well some time ago.
Aberdeen is a difficult market, plenty dukes knocking around but not enough to support a dealership. Aston and Lotus have the same problem with cars. Sell plenty in the area but a dealer wouldn't survive that far North.
I know DG are trying to get someone up here for servicing etc but no luck as yet.

  11. Yip, I still find it weird though. DG are a fantastic shop and I live about 20 minutes from them so they are who I'll always use even though the bike is up here most of the time. Aberdeen is indeed a very strange and pretty much unique market for a lot of things, it's completely different to everywhere else.

Yip, my Dad and I have dealt with Shirlaws a lot over the years and they used to have a good selection of Ducatis until Ducati went solus-style.

You tried Albamoto for anything? They are marketing themselves as a Ducati specialist, but not factory backed as I understand it.

Back to the topic though I guess... I'm on the UpNorth forum too but hardly anything seems to happen on it. It's useful and the folk are nice but whenever I check in on it, there's barely anything new since my last visit so I'm almost never on it. Have found this site much more useful than UpNorth, but I guess if it comes to local stuff UpNorth will maybe be better. Scottish Ducati Club have regular runs and seem to have members all over. In fact, they've got about over 500 members now (I am member 500!). They work through Facebook and the UpNorth forum.

  12. I'm in North Ayrshire, I'm only an intermittant forum user and use DuN much less than I used to as most runs now seem to be weekend away/hotel bookings/secret routes, effectively preventing the day trippers like me from meeting up.
In any case I mostly go out during the week now as its much quieter.

Facebook will also prevent many from participating if its the main means of communicating.

  13. Answer is simple. You want runs that suit your timing and style?

Organise them yourself, through the forums SDC and DuN. They will come if you give them the opportunity.........................if they don't then get out anyway.
