I came across this today, a couple of totally maneuverable bike stands that would be ideal for my cramped workshop, maybe even for trackdays etc. when I get round to doing one again! They cover a wide range of Ducati's but they are expensive. Possibly less so if you compare them to the original official Gubellini Ducati paddock stands. YouTube video that shows how they work https://dynamoto.eu/en-gb/collections/ducati https://dynamoto.eu/en-gb https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l8EIbRMtsTo&ab_channel=TheDucatiPilot
I’ve been aware of those for about 12 months…….and can’t quite bring myself to pay the cost / import duties. Ironically, it’s cheaper to import direct from them in Australia than it is to use their EU supplier They are amazing and would also make my life easier. Thing is, I have a ride on bike dolly that performs the same function and it was less than £150! Not as good though as you then have to move the bike off that dolly to use it for another, which of course I can’t be bothered to do so the Multi sits on it My other half is interested in a set too (so she can turn her bike around in the garage without me being there) so I might take the plunge at some point I particularly like that front wheel dolly they’ve built, genius!
The only drawback I can see is that the front wheel only sits on the stand so you can't actually take the wheel out without a proper front paddock stand. But great for moving the bike around, this is the first time I have ever seen them.
I’m not sure I see a problem? You’d do the reverse of how you put it under the wheel surely? Stands in place - move the bike to wherever you want, leave the rear paddock in place (so the bike doesn’t fall over), remove the front paddock dolly the reverse of the way you put it in. Rear paddock is effectively locked in place by the bar you insert, so it should be safe. Remove the rear paddock, job done I know the videos don’t show it, but if you put it up on the stands that way, you must be able to do the same to get it off them.
I probably didn't portray what I meant which was removing the wheel from the bike for work on the front end, not just getting the stand from under the front wheel. The video does cover that aspect.
Gotcha Yep, no avoiding that. I guess my use case would be for movement only as I have a hydraulic lift for the maintenance part with a wheel chock. Generally I don’t like working on a bike on paddock stands anyway. I’ll break out the ABBA stands if I need a secure way to get the rear / front off the ground
Just came across these. Not sure on the quality though. https://www.beansmotobooth.com/prod...857332993800420&campaign_id=23857332993810420
Warrior stands have been selling something similar for several years. Double sided swing arm stand is £48. Andy
