Dynojet Power Commander 3 Ducati 2001 900 Ss Ie

Discussion in 'Ducati General Discussion' started by WAYNE, Feb 26, 2015.

  1. Has anyone fitted a Dynojet Power Commander 3 to there Ducati 2001 900 SS ie, if so are they worth it and what where the results?!!!!

  2. PC3 doesn't have the functionality to individually adjust fuelling on both cylinders. It does however give you better and smoother power/torque delivery which should give you a better riding experience throughout the rev range. It is not as good as an individual map tune but it doesn't cost as much. I hope to find out just how much better in a little less than 3 weeks on track. Andy

  3. I've got a PCIII on my 750SS ie at the moment. Runs like a broke-dick dog with three legs.

Dyno time booked for next week, remind me to update the thread with results!

  4. Got 1 on my 900. Factory map for cans/kn/open airbox. Also livened up acelerator pump option by about 30%. Increase in power but still runs shit on neutral throttle round town. I've bought a colourtune plug to try and adjust the mixture with the buttons but haven't used it yet.

  5. I have a completely standard 750Sport ie except for the engine, which came from ... somewhere else. It may or may not have been tweaked or modded - it came from a race bike with a 900SS exhaust system and the PCIII but that's all I know.

I'm hoping the PCIII and dyno work together can dial out the rough running, minor backfiring and the black hole at approx 4250 rpm. About the only time the bike is happy is at 7-9k rpm, which isn't all that great for riding around town.

  6. Mine has termignoni pipes and will be fitting K&N filter.I really just want to improve top end that seems to run out of steam at 125mph!!

  7. its worth doing imho just to smooth out the power delivery, especially if you have fitted open pipes with open airbox & filter without changing the ECU as the bike will be running a bit lean

you won't see big power gains, my s2r 800 made only about 6 More RWBHP
the S2R 1000 made about 8-10 HP more

but both bikes picked up low-mid-range tourqe, but the best thing was the smooth predictable throttle response all the way through the rev range. made the bikes a joy to ride

  8. A 900 shouldn't tap out there! My 750 did that before I added two teeth to the rear sprocket.

What gearing do you have in place? Front and rear sprocket-wise, I mean.

  9. If you don't have the pc3 . already you should look at doing an Ecu remap instead. The results are usually better.

  10. Have no looked at gearing yet had to sort out belts and clutch that was a mess but sweet now. Going to have a look tomorrow 27/02/15. The first thing I usually look at is gearing but belts where first issue. Work nights so a pain to get the time but off tonight and early look in the morning!! What is the gearing in your experience or anyone else running?

  11. I've no experience of changing the sprockets on a 900SS. Others ought to be able to advise.

  12. Remap not possible on SSie ecu until recently. Performance Bikes Magazine have been experimenting with one. I'll dig out some articles if anyone's interested.

  13. Very interested!

  14. I can remap the SSie ECU with the RexXer tool. Did one last week after fitting new Termis to her. Gave about 4 bhp and 4 lbft of torque at peaks but improved everywhere and rev'd on to 9500. Cheaper than a power commander to ;)

  15. I had a PC3 fitted to my Monster S2R 800. As above, I found only a little increase in BHP and Torque, but the big difference was to throttle response. Much better. It is possible to set up a PC3 with individual fuel maps for each cylinder. Mine was done that way. The map you have will only be as good as the guy mapping it. Make sure you take it somewhere where they are prepared to spend some time getting it right.
