Ebay Frustration !! ..minichamps Model

Discussion in 'Lounge' started by Justatad, Dec 7, 2022.

  1. I sold a Minichamps Nicky Hayden 1/12 2006 GP championship winning model on eBay last week, the buyer has received the model, but insists the fairing lugs are broken & wants to return it, he’s admitted the packaging was not damaged in anyway, I know 100% the model was in as new condition when I sent it out & packaged extremely well, as can be seen in the pic the fairings are in place & clipped together , we did some digging last night into the buyer, he sells incomplete / broken minichamps models on eBay, so my guess is the scum bag has bought a broken model with the same fairing & is looking to return the broken one to me & keep my mint example, I’ve contacted eBay, but from what I was told, it looks as though I will have to except the return, eBay really has become a toxic place to sell items! I’m so bloody frustrated.

  3. No refund, tell him to fuck off. close ebay account and move on.

Alternatively, someone buys a good one from him and returns the favour...

  4. Aye, fuck that. I couldn’t play that game. Tell him to fuck right off, to hell with the consequences.

  5. Call him out on it, tell him you have security marked it so you will know if its the one you have sent him as you heard of scammers on ebay

  6. Is there anything on your pictures that can catch him out i.e. the position of the Michelin badge on the tyres relative to wheel spokes, just a thought, ask him to send a picture. What a tw@.

  7. Did you take any pictures of it while your were boxing it up

  8. Unless you can prove the switch you’re screwed, eBay always side with the purchaser.

If you aren’t precious about your account I’d remove your bank account debit card then close it down. Unfortunately this is the way eBay has gone, I gave up selling on there quite a while ago due to dishonest buyers giving grief.
    Good Luck.

  9. I presume his plan is to send his broken fairings back on the bike I sent him & keep the unbroken fairings I sent out

  10. I didn’t , no

  11. Yes this’ll be his thinking, mate had the same with an ecu, buyer claimed it didn’t work and sent my mate the broken ecu back.

  12. Sorry did not realise they were interchangeable. May be ask him, hopefully he's not that smart. Keep an eye out to see if he sells it on in the future and do the same back.

    Cheers Gaz

  13. That is a good one! :upyeah:- you have a right to see pictures of the "damage" and those transfers/stickers are never 100% in the same place.

  14. I’ve given up using eBay it’s full of scamming bastards.

  15. My advice is send him some dogshit in a jiffy bag.:D.....................happy days.:upyeah:
