998 Ecu Flashing

Discussion in '748 / 916 / 996 / 998' started by Wazza, Mar 23, 2016.

  1. Hello I looking to get a ECU re-flashed for a 998s engine with 57mm exhaust

But no sure who is the best at this

    Thanks

  2. Could do worse than ask @chrisw - from memory, he has helped with many an ECU.

  3. CJS at Louigi Moto between Bristol and Bath, Chris is amongst the best, will take a full day to do it properly but you will not regret it. Best to get Rich (Louigi Moto) set it up then Chris to reflash an ecu for you

  4. The thing is I don t have a day where I do something like that unless they are an hour from York so I m thinking more of posting 1 and trying it that way

  5. Wazza, no point, the reflash is done with a rolling road/dyno and exhaust gas analysers to set up the injection system to account for all the gas flow variability's through the filters and air intake through the combustion process and the exhaust characteristics. Without a bike to set up you may as well retain the map you have. You can buy eproms that are 'matched' to a specific exhaust but they are approximate at best. Ducati's factory set up is also approximate at best. Hopefully someone on here knows someone up your way that can help. An alternative is a Power Commander with a set up, that will also take a few hours to do, will be an improvement but not as good as a proper reflash. The Power Commander with a preset map is also approximate and frankly not that good if you want the best result . Either option will cost the best part of £400-£500. You may be abe to get an approximate eprom from JHP or someone like that, not sure how much they would charge HTH

  6. As Denzil says JHP are worth ringing as John has a library of different eprom chips that he can call upon, I had one from there for my 853, told him what mods had been done and he had a chip to match ( JHP built the engine at a earlier date) I don't know how much better the bike might be with a purpose made chip but it runs faultlessly as is, I think it cost about £60 three years ago.

  7. Try Neil at Cornerspeed. He will reflash with Rexxer software. He is at Sutton-in Ashfield, north Notts. So should be only just over one hour away. I can't recommend him highly enough, he reflashed the ECU on my Monster 1100 Evo to improve low-down running.

  8. Thanks for info I ve tried the 998R 50/54 and that is not working that well ,so next week I ll put the 7502B back in and give her a wiz ,the 7502B make a real difference when fitted over the 7402B so I was hoping there was more
Not really feeling a PC111 less is more sometimes
    But thanks for help

  9. Rexxer have a map for the 998 with full system in the library. Its also available with the limiter raised to 10800. I can do a postal service on them. £230 inc. vat and return postage.
