1198 Ecu Map Question

Discussion in '848 / 1098 / 1198' started by BB1000, Mar 25, 2016.

  1. On tuneecu you get an option to disable the 02 sensors, so the questions are

what happens if you disabled the 02 sensors on the standard 1198 SBK map where its usually activated.
    and
What would happen if you activated the 02 sensors on the race can 1198 RACING map where its usually disabled.

    Any ideas?

  2. No body know?

  3. I don't but as the O2 sensor output is used to make minor adjstments to the fuel/air mixture, my guess is that if you disable them on the standard can you will probably not feel a huge difference but turning them on for the race can, I believe the sensor will not understand the required higher fuel/air mixture and will try and lean it off far too much. This could be a load of bollocks but from what little I do know, it makes sense to me. Andy

  4. Why does the bike have lambdas? To meet EU emission tests.

Same reason the EXBV is there.

Disable them in the stock map and you will be able to set fuel trim using diagnostic software.

I can see no advantage in enabling Lamdas in the DP ECU. The fuel mapping for the lambdas probably doesn't exist on the DP ECU.

  10. Well i give up lol ... only maps i can get to load is by using tuneecu, tried a few and all but the standard map results in popping like mad on overrun ... all other software dont work so can't load the bin files, guzzidiag works but readings only :(

  11. I was expecting after your previous thread re: The glorious overrun soundtrack our bikes bless us with, to read a post in a couple of weeks stating you were getting used to it and growing am appreciation for it lol...

Guess your a much tougher nut to crack than most of us.

Still being so new to these fine machines I cant offer much in the way of technical help/advice yet but I do hope you find a solution and can your enjoyment of the bike isn't effected to much by this irritation for you.

    Ben.

  12. :D love the bike ... just want it 100% right lol ... will balance the throttle bodies next and go from there ... probably should have done that first tbh, I'm still learning though as its a bit different to my aprilia rsv

  13. Still runs better on Standard map with the race cans, ... so im going to try disabling the 02 sensors on that map, slight hesitation on 4k so I'll see if thats any better :D
