Hi so I’m new to Ducati’s. I bought a 2000 Ducati 9000ss . Very very well taken care of ... The previous owner has a lot of modifications on the bike and anything oem that he had taken off gave me in a few boxes. There’s a second ECU. I just wanna know which is the original with the bike when purchased and also is there any difference between the two? Supposed to picture of the one that came separately in a box. Research both of them and I just really can’t find that much information about them and ECUs are not my strong point yet Research both of them and I just really can’t find that much information about them and ECUs are not my strong point yet Thank you the ecu in currently in the bike is Mageti marelli 96504600B
Sorry I was using dictation and that’s a really terrible paragraph. Posted a picture of the one that came separately in addition to the numbers I read here’s a picture of the one you can kind of see it it’s in the bike but the numbers are in the post above
Does the bike have a different exhaust from OEM and is the orignal exhaust in with all of your boxes of bits? The fact that the ECU in your bike has a Ducati Performance sticker on it points to a map for a sports exhaust. I've got a few spare ECUs for Ducatis, and everyone ties up to an exhaust system I have for the bike.
Yes I have the original exhaust system that has the Ducati performance exhaust system. And that made me kind of curious because I’m not sure if that’s tied into this ECU. Or if he literally just had a spare ECu just to have a Spare ecu .
OK I see what you mean about the ECU you having the Ducati performance sticker on it. Probably a very obvious thing that I stupidly looked over. Lol
Looks like it is a DP ECU you have fitted on the bike. 96504600B http://www.rubbersideup.com/02-duca...control-ecu-ecm-igniter-computer-286-4-022-1a Ducati part number 28640221A
I'd agree with above. When I had Arrow cans on my ie I got a Power Commander to smooth out the fuelling. Made a big difference. The DP ECUs are quite difficult to find so to have both is great!
Hello Chrisw Hope you are ok, I was told you can help me with removing the immobiliser from an ecu for Ducati 749/999. Please let me know
