Got the bike out of the garage this morning for my commute. Noticed the clock was showing 3am odd (at 7am). When i indicate all electrical power to the dash goes. Has anyone had this before, is it a simple fix?
Earthing problem? Damp in dashboard/connector? I would disconnect battery for a minute, see if that sorts it
Check the fuses down the RHS of the headlight housing. There's a 3A (iirc) fuse down there that runs the dash. They don't blow, but corrosion builds up and the current flow is poor. Sometimes just a "wiggle" is enough to clean them up, but pull them all and check/clean is worth doing.
Thanks for the replies. I'll check those fuses tomorrow. It is still the same, although I have ridden it all week. On Thursday the rear light went out so I took it apart to check the bulb and it looked fine. Put it back in and now the brake light is stuck on, so it doesn't register when I brake. Could it be it is getting current from somewhere else?
Bulb back in wrong way round?? It has staggered connectors, so has to be in the right way round. If not, sounds like an earthing problem.
Update. the bike has been at the garage for a while now and they have tried all they can, including using a different edu to see if that was the cause. They have now suggested it all points to the pcb in the dash maybe being faulty. Has anyone heard of this before? Should i call Mark at Scorpio or just get a new dash at cost of £200?
