Hi all, changed the fuel sender unit on my 2015 dvt last week, took it out today for the first time since doing the job, I noticed the engine management light on after start up, hoped it would reset itself after my journey, but no Only unplugged the sender unit plug & the fuel pick up plug when installing the new sender Will I need to have the bike plugged in to a Ducati laptop etc to get the light off ?
Did you turn the key on while the fuel sender and fuel pump were disconnected? I'm curious as to how, if that is the cause of the EML, the ECU picked it up. If that is whats caused the EML you may find, with a bit of luck, that after a number of key on/key off cycles (5 or 6 iirc) where everything is fine when the initial tests are run it will disappear. If it doesn't then you need to plug the bike into a diagnostic computer to reset it, either a dealer's DDS, an independent's Texa (or something similar) or someone who has something like OBDStar. You may even find the free software from JPDiag can do it.
I didn’t turn the key no Maybe it will reset itself then after a few cycles of start / stops The bike is due a service, I use an independent, hopefully he has the necessary software to reset it if need be Appreciate the reply
I have an OBDStar. If none of the above work out pop over to Cheltenham and I can reset it for you, or maybe we could meet somewhere like the BaffleHaus if you can make it out on weekdays.
