I have a 2002 ST2 with the grey engine the same as the swingarm colour. Over winter my clutch slave cylinder leaked and ruined the paint on the alternator cover so I want to repaint it. I plan to do this myself on the cheap so does anyone know any matches in normal car paint colours which I can buy off the shelf. I am aware of RS Paints but buying an aerosol and clearcoat from them is £38.50 which seems a little steep. If I must, I will, but I would like to know if there are alternatives. Thanks, Miserable old cheapskate.
I used this product to good effect in the past https://www.frost.co.uk/eastwood-zinc-phosphate-aerosol/ but you need to apply Simoniz lacquer as well as it’s not petrol resistant (ask me how I know ).
Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately that's the wrong grey. Mine is a light grey. It is the same colour as ST2 swingarm for every year. They only did it for the engine and cases for the last run. I think the first years of the ST3 are the same colour. I am planning to have a look in my local decent auto spares shop.
