Engine cut-outs

  1. Anyone experienced the engine cutting out? I have, twice. Once a couple of months ago when I was coasting up to a roundabout behind a queue of cars at about 20mph with the clutch in - and again today. This time I was in heavy traffic doing about 5mph, again with the clutch in.

Any ideas what could be the problem? And has anyone experienced it in a potentially dangerous situation?

  2. What year is the bike?, I believe this is a problem that was cured with an ECU update, your local dealer should be able to confirm if your bike has been updated or not.

  3. yes I have had it. coming up to a junction, declutch and stall. has happened a few times but have had an ecu update and dealer have a new red switch right side (starter)which still awaiting to be fitted. Ps 2010 s touring

  4. It's a 2013 bike. I will take it up with the dealer. Thanks for the heads-up

  5. after watching watchdog bbc1 tonight, I looked up recalls for the MTS1200, and this was one of them listed, cured by a plug-in at the dealerships

  6. Did you get an error code on the display when this happened?

  7. I had it on my 2012 bike. Had to have a replacement side stand switch and right hand switchgear.

  8. I've had it a couple of times, slowing down, clutch in, engine dies... Had the switches replaced. Not happened again for a fair while now though

  9. No no error code at all

  10. Have none of you had older ducatis? They all do it!
