1200 Pikes Peak Engine Error 2103 Pikes Pead

  1. Brought the bike into the shop in freezing conditions (20 degrees F) and had an inadvertent Engine Error light and Engine Dummy Light come on 3 or 4 times.

The boys hooked it and and said "now way" was the fault that was registering real. Their guess was it was so cold the wiring harness contracted a fraction and pinched a wire. On the way home in warmer temps both lights went out after a few miles but came right back on the next time I rode and did not turn off.

The shop boys said it would take 3 or 4 hours to search for the problem.

Does anyone else have any ideas?

  2. Congrats on getting the 2103 pp way before anyone else McFly. [emoji6] (Back to the Future reference)

Without hooking it up to diagnostics, no way to tell what problem the bike thought it was having. That's the only way to narrow the search down.

  3. You could strip the panels off and try wiggling some of the connectors to see you can replicate the "pinch" causing the light, but you really need the diagnostics to point out the problem.
