Hi folks. I’m mounting engine bars on my 2010, and replacing the R&G sliders that were on the bike when I got it. What do I need to replace the through bolt that I assume is part of the sliders package? I’ve had a look on eBay but I’m not sure of exactly what I need. And 50 quid for a bolt?! Thanks in advance.
The R&G sliders would have replaced the original engine mount bolt. If you don’t have it, then you’ll need a new one, along with the nut. Not sure on cost, but I wouldn’t use anything other than OEM.
Thanks folks. They are Givi bars, more for hanging lights on than anything else. Where they mount to the chassis, they have an expanding grommet, so I’m assuming the original mounting bolt is well recessed into the hole.
It’s the lower mount on the chassis, the engine hangs off it. Just above and forward of the water pump.
Ah, don't think this is one of those, might be but I have an Enduro so possibly a bit different. I think this is a rear engine bolt ....
Yeah I really don't know what this one is for, it looks like the rear engine bolt on mine but it came (no idea why) in a box with my fog lights. The fog light kit had various extra and missing parts so I assume it was intended for someone else. Or perhaps sent back to Ducati by someone ... they didn't seem to want it back so I kept it in case it's useful for someone sometime.
Sorry, I want to keep it but Ed, further up said you can have the one he has. It looks the same size as what I posted up.
I have two spare engine bolts the same Siddo's and Ed's. They were removed to fit R&G crash bungs on a 2013 Twin Spark and a 2015 DVT. They are exactly the same as each other. You are welcome to one of them if you pay the postage. Peter
Just a watch-out folks; as this is a critical engine mounting bolt be careful to use a bolt made of the correct material and torque the bolt properly. There are horror stories on several forums showing the engine casings cracking at this point, most likely due to incorrect torque and a loose motor.
