The bike has cut out 3 times in around 175 miles so far, it will be running sweetly and without warning the engine warning light comes on and the engine shuts down. I turn of the ignition, let the relay click, turn the ignition back and boom, it starts up with no issues and no warning lights! All three times the bike cut out I was riding on a fairly constant throttle at slow speed (sub 40mph) Have trawled thro’ various threads on the subject (seems a common issue) but the fix less so. Anyone have any ideas where I might start some home diagnostics? (throttle position sensor seems to pop up a few times) Or do I stick it in the trailer and take it to the dealers to be plugged in to a DDA ?
My 899 did this 3 times a few years ago. Going down the gears, 30 to 40mph. Dry sunny days and just switched off. Complete shut down. Only to fire up at first attempt a few seconds later. Dealer couldn't find anything at all and now 2 years later it hasn't done it at all. I feel your frustration as you say it's common but no easy answer I'm afraid.
