As ever.. Failure, maybe if the FA capped the number of foreign players we'd actually invest in British players? I hate football with a passion, was forced by the OH to watch the game, she even admitted she'd rather watch the bike racing, overpaid untalented primadonna's the lot of them.
Let's have some perspective here guys. We actually play better than 4 years ago. We do now have talented players but we don't have a magician like Pirlo or a finisher like Suarez. Just one of those days. We weren't great but we weren't total pants. It could be worse: we could be Spain.
ITYS in the England v Italy thread, it was the best result that England could expect....... No matter what anyone says, like that dickhead Hoddle "we weren't outclassed....." etc etc..........THEY F-ING LOST! Bunch of overpaid, thick, prima donnas; plus a coach that was only fit to transport New Age Travellers. I couldn't be bothered to watch it.........just checked in twice to see if I was right....... ....my old man was a professional player.........I hate effing football.
Before we all commit hara kiri, we still have a not unreasonable chance of qualifying for the next round. Italy would have to win both of their matches, but that's not ridiculous. Then we have to beat Costa Rica. Seeing as we only lost our matches by one goal, and Uruguay lost to Costa Rica by 2, they definitely wouldn't qualify in this scenario. Basically, we'd have to beat Costa Rica by 2 goals. Even with the same goal difference, I imagine we would go through against them as we would have beaten them. If Italy beat them by 2 goals, the job is easier. So it's not likely that we will qualify, but it's not stupidly impossible by any means. Just have to hope that the Italians want to finish top. None of the people who hate football need read this thread. They can go back to playing bowls, or whatever it is that they do when not on a bike.
