Hey all. I would like to share my adventures in fixing the dash's inbuilt barometric pressure sensor error. A while back the EOBD light came on and the bike (2003 999) was running rich (backfires on release of throttle and rough idle). I checked the EOBD errors as explained by Rob https://www.ducatiforum.co.uk/threads/ducati-999-749-eobd-error-codes.597/ . I had error 2.1 = Pressure Sensor short circuit to power supply. JPDiag gave me error p0105 Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric Pressure Circuit Malfunction. DTC:E1 Open circuit, Short circuit Vbat. After some research, I found the sensor was supposed to be in the dash. With the help of I was able to get to the dash circuit board. It took me days to find this: . An infineon KP120 pressure sensor. Datasheet: https://media.digikey.com/pdf/Data Sheets/Infineon PDFs/KP120(Ezzzz).pdf The signal leg of the sensor was indeed constantly at 5v when it should never get past 4.5 or so, even at sea level. I de-soldered the signal leg. I then made a voltage divider with two resistors between ground and 5v to get the voltage sent to the dash processor to sit around 4.2. Just to get the bike going. This voltage is obviously meant to vary with altitude / barometric pressure. All errors could be cleared and the bike runs fine now. The KP120 is obsolete. The Infineon KP235 looks to have the same specs and footprint / pin layout.
