Good morning. I am currently restoring a 1995 Ducati 748 and I’m looking to change the exhausts. Does anyone know where you can get the EPROM chips for the ECU nowadays? Thanks. Jason.
What exactly are you after? - I may be able to help. I can burn chips for P8/P7 ecu's. I have an image for a 059 chip (standard 1995 748). There wasn't a factory "open exhaust" chip, but typically the "open exhausts" chips were +5% across the full rev range, which is easy to create. There was however a 060 chip for the 748SP, and a 066 chip for 748SP with open exhausts (I don't have those images though)
I have the 059 chip at the moment. From what I can make out I need the following chip 965014AAA. Or is that basically a 059 chip? Thanks. Jason.
Ah - now, apologies, I had assumed you had an early 748 with a P8 ECU, but that part number looks like it's a 1.6M - so completely different. I'm afraid I don't have any images for 1.6M - if I did, I'd be able to burn you a chip (if you find any, let me know). Another option would be to go down the power commander route. EDIT: Reading it again, you said that you are currently running a 059 which *is* a P8 image - if that's the case then the 965014AAA will *not* work for you (though a 066 might be closest, I'd imagine, but as mentioned, I don't have a copy of that image unfortunately)
Ah, yes - you're right - I was reading the documentation that I had incorrectly. I now see that it's a 27512 EPROM, which would make it a IAW1.6
Jason, the chip you need for an earlier 748 with open exhaust is 08054/6 Year 2000+ used an 075 chip.
Does anyone know where I would get one from? Tried messaging a couple of places but haven’t had any replies yet. thanks.
Assuming you're still looking, I highly recommend the old UltiMap chips if you're not going the custom dyno tune way. Very smooth mapping across entire rev range. Here's a UM091 on ebay: https://www.ebay.ie/itm/184343208092
