Has anyone got more info on what is happening with this company? As a customer of ERS, recently received a letter from Bike Team in connection with policies being taken over by Principal Insurance brokers. Does this mean that ERS are no longer going to insure motorcycles? I am curious about this point as owing to previous experience with broker changeovers I have seen premiums hiked beyond what is sensible. In fact I just ran an online quote with Principal for the same vehicle and I was staggered to see that not only had the premium risen by about 40%, but the excess has also jumped by 35%. However, Principal were not offering ERS policies, so it looks as though I am going to have to find an insurer who can offer me a policy of around £90 which is what I currently pay.
Cornmarket were being very competitive last time I had to renew. Step 1. comparison site Step 2 let them beat the cheapest quote on comparison site. Win.
Thanks, I'll try it your way...........They aren't too good on the initial online quote...........over 3 times what my current policy cost.
There's no change at ERS - they continue to offer bike insurance. All that's happened is the broker that owns the Bike Team brand has effectively sold the brand to another broker. So the insurance via ERS is unchanged, it's just a change of broker administering these particular policies.
They still have to continue your policy to the end of its term. They buy the company and its liabilities, including the contracts.
