I though I'd more likely get an answer in here than the new Supersport section and it applies to much more than the Superport. I have ordered the new Akrapovic slip on for my Supersport, but they do a full race system (if 'er indoors ever gets wind of the price!) which I'm now seriously interested in. Whilst I understand it's not homologated for the road in the UK up to now there hasn't been any check for emissions at MOT time. There's always the risk due to it might not have a CE stamp on it. What do you guys think? What are the cons?
If its marked 'not for road use' just polish out or even tape over (tester isn't allowed to remove the tape). There is no emissions test (at this time) for bikes. The rule is that if its not marked it should 'sound no louder than a similar bike' or something like that. Most testers like a baffle so just fit one (if you've taken it out)
I wonder if the euro applications will remain with us when we leave? In the past I have bought metal plaques saying it was a bs approved standard and sticky backed them on for the mot but this was more prudence on a decent system rather than a super loud cheap silly system.
