Europe trip

  1. Just a quick praise for the multistrada. Me and mate just home from a 2500mile trip from Ireland-Wales-Spain-Andorra-France-Ireland and both 1200's handled, toured, carried luggage and never got it easy, yet never had a problem, even in 4hours of torrential rain.

Got talking to a ducati tech to, and he says there's a completely new revamped multi on the way with the new panigale engine reworked down to a 1000cc but with more power and torque than the current one

  2. Sounds like a great trip but i can be pretty sure a 1000cc Panigale engine is going to struggle to make the same torque as a 1200 Multi engine.

I can well believe that aspects of the Pani engine, especially the chain driven cams, will work their way through to other models but it will have to be a very different design from the current Panigale engine to be better than the current Mutli engine.

  3. That'll be another "new" duke to cross off my list of possibilities. Really dont like the
Panigale motor characteristics compared to the older style powerplant.
Have always been quite lucky with being able to get new bikes regularly but now it
looks like I will just be spending the cash on keeping the 1098/1198 derivitive engined bikes on the road :-(
