1260 Evap Removal

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by freshage, May 20, 2024.

  1. Getting round to this today, does anyone have a write up or tips? I found a few posts here and there, however I'm still a bit unsure of what to leave and what to remove.

From what I've read, the only line to leave is the fuel breather and the rest remove?

  5. I made a mistake, maybe an expensive one... I was fiddling with the fuel cap assembly after removing the tank fairing as I wanted to clean the area properly. As I lifted the assembly the plug on the right hand side snapped clean off at the base. It was barely any force so, heads up anyone tackling this. Leave the fuel cap alone unless you want to risk it. My guess, old and brittle? Maybe just too ham fisted.

New unit is €300...... Not sure if I trust super glue to hold that hose on. Plugged it up for now, will tackle this next weekend once I've decided how to repair this first.

To add, those that have done this, how did you go about this? The lines are buried so deep in the bike, is there a trick to this? Or am I too much of an oaf to get into the nooks and crannies lol

  6. After some googling, I've ordered a new fuel cap assembly, which really hurt the pride. Lesson learnt.

  7. Did you order the keyless fuel cap? It’s a great improvement.

  8. Already had keyless, and agreed. It's a very nice gadget to have.
