Ex Aprilia owner wanting a Multi

Discussion in 'Newbies Hangout' started by Sprocker, Nov 11, 2012.

  1. Hi all, i've never owned a Ducati, but that might change next year

Had an RSV mille up until 18 months ago when i binned it, so took some time out to get my head together and now i'm ready to get back on the road again. I saw a multi-strada 1200 yesterday in a local shop and absolutely fell in love with it .. also drooled over a Hypermotard 1100 at Squires cafe today which was a real beauty, but i reckon the multi would be the better bike for me. Hopefully will be searching/asking some advice on here when the time comes :upyeah:

  2.

Where in West Yorkshire are you?

  3. Hi Sprocker and welcome. If I were you I'd try them both out, but from what I read on here the Multi does just about everything so an awful lot of folk end up going down that route. I want a Multi but unless I win the lottery it won't happen!

  4. From Pontefract just down the road from Squires =)

  5. Be good to all get together (WY crew) when the weathers nice :upyeah:

  6. And thanks for the welcome...I'll probably go the Multi route as i'll be taking pillions and i think the hyper might be too hooligan, and too tempting to make me a hooligan lol

  7. I like the idea of a Multi but my short arse legs don't :frown:

  8. Perhaps I should have sat on it in the shop I might have the same problem =) I'm 5' 11"

  9. Nah you'll be fine. It's 5'5"" that has a problem :frown:

  10. Hello and welcome :upyeah:

  11. You can be a hooligan on the multi :)
    Hello and welcome

  12. I find it difficult NOT to be a hooligan on the Multi :upyeah:

    It makes me do it!

  13. I know!
Multi is great fun fastest I have ever gone round a tight bend
Yes it made me do it too :-D

  14. Welcome Sprocker. THE MULTI CAN DO HOOLIGAN TOO IF YOU WANT IT TO!!!

I visited Squires for the first time last July on my way from a mate in Leyland across for the ferry in Hull. Good bike meeting place but normally a bit too far for me. Loomies, Box Hill, Ace Cafe and Newlands Corner are my local meeting places.

  15. Hiya  we often go to Squires nice place have a cuppa and bike watch, hope to see you there sometime!

  16. Welcome in to the forum  both great bikes to have the choice of, just ride both and see which takes your fancy. You can't go far wrong with either.

  17. i still have my Aprilia rsv mille 02 model. I have gone the other way. I have owned quite a few Ducati's in the past. Great bikes. my last was a ST3S, but i missed the sports bike. so i purchased an aprilia, great bike.

If i had the money the Multi is a great bike, 3 bikes in 1. Its the cost with me. 3 kids and a expensive wife.

  18. As a recent convert to the Multistrada.......go for it. It's brilliant!

  19. I loved my 2000 plate mille, The faster Yellow one ;) my first V-twin and I was hooked <3

The Multi looks fab, and for taking a pillion i reckon it would suit better ? And kids n wife will mean i'll be going the S/H route too =)

  20. Two years on and still not got one ! Just been through a divorce, hence the delay, but once the house is sold and my finances are freed up i'll be good to go.

I'm booked in for a demo ride tomorrow :) I took an Aprilia Caponord out last month for a demo and really liked that, so hoping the MTS surpasses expectations as i like the look of the Duc better.
