1200 Exhaust Valve Problems

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by mmdog251, Mar 11, 2015.

  1. Hi having sticking exhaust valve problems. Solutions seem to be a decat pipe plus end an & remap, I have read lots of threads on which is best.

My local dealer, Italia in Lincoln, says they can reprogram the ecu & disconnect the valve servo for £250' which cures the prob & makes bike run smoother. Seems a lot cheaper than new system.

    Anybody had this done?

  2. I've done a couple. There's no need to remove the valve. It can be wired open as a safeguard to stop it ever moving. The map deletes the O2 sensors, so these can be disconnected and fuelling improved to boot.
The bike remains looking stock and fitting a decat will make it louder.

  4. image.jpg I agree with Carter. I fitted a Mivv decat and a Ducee to override the system. I've run it for a year with no problems and you could just remove the servo and fit the Ducee? Cheap and simple.

  5. Had one on my 1098s for 4 years now. At that price you can't go wrong, main stealer will never volunteer this info although they know about them. They'd rather you threw £250 down the pan (or in their direction) for nothing.

  6. I had the EXVL error the other day, so if it keeps happening, do I just fit one of these for £40 and disconnect the old servo/cables etc?

  7. Pm meeting your number for a chat.
A lot depends on what model you have.
Single spark models report open and close errors, where twin spark only reports only closed errors, so it is easier to defeat.
A decat, new end can and a remap is great, if you have the budget.

  8. yep...unplug the servo, plug this in to that connection then bin all the cables and servo.

  9. Cheers, sounds easy enough?
