Watched this vid on you tube and the first part about the standard exhaust throws a spanner into the theory that the exhaust valve is just to suppress noise anyone tried their bike on a dyno after removal to see what difference it make to the power readings. Me personally I think it improves low down response but as I never ride on the limit (age related) I cant comment on kicking the balls out of it performance. !!!
Never removed mine but deactivated it. After the new exhaust one seized also and all attempts to free it properly failed Sent from my D5803 using Tapatalk
I removed the one on a Honda and the one on a BMW flat twin and replaced with cans and fuel consumption improved on both as did the performance.
Ducati rewrote the software around 2012 so that if it failed open it didn't report it to the rider! Therein lies the truth of what it's for.
