Is there any difference in the exhaust on the 1200 between the years? I've been looking for a decat pipe and silencer for my 2014 bike but there isn't many advertised at the moment.
No I don't think so mate, from what I gather they're all the same from 2010 onwards. The only difference will be that all 2010/2011 bikes exhaust valves on the cat will have rotted away to nothingness by now, closely followed by 2012/13....... Yours is but a month or two away take it off now , spray it with acf50 and save it, in a few years time they'll be rare as rocking horse
I don't know which one to get they range from £500 - £1500 all made of the same stuff and all seem to have the Y piece not T piece link pipe.
Just about to do the same thing. Have decided on the QD system- looks good and encouraging comments from forum members. Plan to have a Rexxer tune after fitting. Have been "chatting" by email to Manuel at QD System (www.qdexhaust.it)in Italy and he is very helpful and offering a discounted price. Still expensive but might have to bite the bullet!
My only other question is, I have 3 years warranty on the bike, will it affect it if I fit an after market exhaust?
Never heard of any warranty problems - but the insurance company may be upset and load you up so might be worth checking first? If your engine failed and it turned out to be because a weak mixture caused overheating due to the exhaust change that could be a problem. A proper tune by the likes of cjs should be carried out asap after fitting imho.
If they do it'll only rot But I believe they do, they must do surely? Ive not changed the pipe on mine yet so haven't really looked that closely, but my thoughts are similar to yours, £500-£1500 i dont see a huge difference tbh. Was going to go for the race oval Sc project but the sods wont do it in the balck stainless for me OR gloss coat the carbon body to match the end caps (its matt carbon center, gloss on the end) they do the slightly larger can in black stainless so why the hell they cant just use that and trim it down god only knows, im a little pissed they wont even offer, it was a straight NO..... mama mia Looks like ill be going Mivv, bugger them all
Right I'm looking at getting this set up, anybody seen or heard one? SCARICO EXHAUST MIVV SUONO DUCATI MULTISTRADA 1200 '10 | eBay It's either that or an Arrow system DUCATI MULTISTRADA 1200 / S 2010 > FULL ARROW EXHAUST TITANIUM RACETECH CARBY | eBay
The mivv suono is what im probably going to get, good video here: And then the below schematic shows the latest version which now has 3 db killers, 1 for the end can and 2 inserts:
Nice one, I'm going to check with my Dealer tomorrow and if he says it's ok to put one on and keep the warranty on account of the bike being 3 months old and the exhaust valve jamming closed half the time. Then I'll order one.
If you have a CJS remap the lambda sensors are switched off, not sure if this is the case with a Rexxer remap. The benefit of this is the ECU only uses the fuel map table to work out the correct fuelling, the lambda sensors work up to 3000 rpm roughly and can make the bike's fuelling shunt and jerk a little. I have had both the Rexxer and CJS remaps and I can tell you now there is no comparison to the CJS map! It is far superior and custom to your bike, the Rexxer map is generic and therefore can never be as good as a custom map. To be honest if you can afford the CJS map it's only roughly a couple of hundred quid more than a Rexxer but well worth the money. Only my opinion guys?
Forgot say CJS remap's also turn off the exhaust valve operation and lower the setting for your cooling fan switch on so your engine is protected even more against high temps, but the best bit is the CJS racing message that comes up when you fire the bike on. Cool! Just for record I have a full Termi system.
I understand CJS offers two services- a full dyno or a simpler ECU remap. Is the latter sufficient for"mere mortals"? I have tried to contact SC Racing re their exhausts on several occasions without success-damodici you have done one better than me though with no result!
I am the importer for QD here in the UK, Rmoto ltd, website is being updated, here are a few pictures of recent customers and their full systems, if i can be of help in any way feel free to ask. Regards
Well I'm sure that's great news for some. alas unfortunately for me I fear no reasonable amount of discount will bring them within my budget
