Exhausts A04 Or A11?

  1. Trying to find some OEM exhausts or baffles for my bike and struggling to determine what fits. Sure this has been done to death but can't find answer from searches.

Been looking on Stein-Dinse for comparable exhausts for my 91 900ss which has A04/B04 silencers on it but baffles have been removed so way too loud.
Will the A11 silencers fit? Stein-Dinse states they are off 94 on 900ss but I've seen comments on forum about them having a smaller rear baffle and hence from a more restrictive german market model.

I've seen A-04 exhausts being sold in germany as 851/900ss and also A11 being sold in UK.
Anyone with any answers to the above. Did the EU bring in tighter noise regs in 94 and hence smaller baffles?

  2. You may be in luck as I have just cut open a standard exhaust and can take measurements for you if it helps? 20200412_164107.jpg

  3. Think the tube diameter would be different if you are trying to reduce the noise of straight thru' pipes compared to a 3 pass OEM exhaust although I'm sure pipewerx would be able to sort it.

Thanks that would be great. Is yours an A04 or A11?
I'm after the internal diameter of the small baffle pipe where it comes out of the back of the exhaust and also the length of that small baffle pipe.

  4. I have an '89 851 with the original A04-B04 cans on, I have just measured the I/d of the baffle and it's 31mm. I can't measure length as they are spot fixed into place..

  5. It's an A04. Sizes measured tonight

  6. Thanks very much.

Thanks, length and angle if that's possible although I can maybe work out the angle from my own cans with a little bit of cardboard and luck.

  7. Thanks very much.
