Will a full Akrapovic system be overkill for my 899? Or would a Termignoni slip-on be enough for a cleaner response and a deeper Ducati tone? I note owners have done both, but have read/heard an 899 would loose midrange with a full Akrapovic?
I’ve done neither, but that’s because I’m cheap and poor, but from what I’ve seen on various forums, a full system won’t do much for an 899, as its already designed pretty much ideally for the bike. I’d recommend the termi plus a remap for best results. Me on the other hand, I’m going to custom make a free flow system (basically a more sophisticated decat) as soon as I get a spare. Also, if you want to save a few hundred quid, refer to this exhaust decat thread he got 14 more hp out of a 959.
