1260 Extended Mudguard

  1. So I got an extended mudguard with my 1260, as I guess everyone does. I've actually gotten 2, since the engine bars come with a shorter one that works with them.

I was just wondering whether you guys were fitting them or not. Whether you thought it was worth it, etc.

  2. If you're running without the extension fit a rad guard if you already haven't. Wise precaution to fit one whatever but I'd say absolutely essential if you run without that extension.

  5. As before I have one fitted and I have an Evotech Rad guard as well, they do stop "some" of the crap going onto the front cylinder head. Do you mean the Ducati Extended Mudguard or an extension to the Ducati one as made by Pyramid Plastics etc?

If its the extra extender you may need to fit bolts to stop it rubbing on the tyre and taking chunks out the PP extension fender.

  6. Agreed that a fenda xxtender (e.g. from Pyramid Plastics) can rub against the tyre as the front mudguard assembly as it's not that rigid. Also on my 1200 it fouls the Evotech head guard under heavy braking, which leaves rub marks on the fenda extender and pushes it into the tyre. I don't notice this when riding and I left the fenda extenda in place as it does a good job of stopping too much crap being thrown onto engine/radiator.

  7. I meant the Ducati one that comes with the bike.

Thanks very much for the feedback everyone. Seems like it's a bit of a no-brainer then. I'll get them to fit it at the first service.
