Rule ~1 - This is not the place to tell us again how boring F1 is. You either get it, or you don't, and if it's the latter, please depart now. So testing is underway and Vettel in the Ferrari has made a surprisingly good start, topping the 1st two days testing times. Obviously these times are pretty meaningless and we all know that the Mercedes engined teams will be in a strong position again. But they may be in contention and what ever you may think of Vettel, he can do the business when the car suits him. The wise money will be on Hamilton/Mercedes to do it again, albeit not by such a dominating margin. Red Bull, Williams and Ferrari to be the other contenders for podiums? And what of the new Honda powered McLaren; Can this be more than just a development year? Can Alonso claw something special out of the car? And how long before the sparks fly between Alonso and Dennis (still can't believe they buried the hatchet).
well " kirky " you have certainly asked all the quetions,, but we all ( those interested enough ) just gonna have to wait for the answers,,,,, for me, yes there are many changes but Allonso in the MCL holds the most potential..
I really hope Williams continue their great form, excellent to see them back at the top especially good in Martini colours for those of us of a certain age.
is he any better than the guy who has outpaced , out raced and out pointed him all year ?,, ( ok,, i am a big Button fan )
Absolutely the right man to keep with Alonso arriving in the team. He's the perfect team mate, knows McLaren and the Honda modus operandi (don't often get to use that!), is easy going and will consistently get the car in the points if it finishes reliably. And his new wife is absolutely HOT! What more could you hope to get in a no. 2 (great as Button is, Alsonso is just a bit special).
It is boring but I do like the tech so am I allowed to play Button outperformed Hamilton in the McLaren
I think Bottas in the Williams could be a thorn in Mercedes side. I think Williams now have a great aero man and that car should be a potential winner this year. I just hope the Mercedes customer teams aren't penalised too much with lower output engines than the mothership team.
I'd really like to see Williams doing well again - and as a lifelong Ferrari fan I never thought I'd say that... Bottas is a class act, and Massa was robbed of the title the year Shamilton won... Vettel has to be a good bet - and the new Ferrari looks so much better than last year's one did. I wouldn't bet against Ricciardo either - he's bound to be there or thereabouts...
sorry, but the technology involved is way more interesting than the personalities or what they have the nerve to call racing.
