748 Factory Declared Maximum Gross Weight - 748 Biposto

Discussion in '748 / 916 / 996 / 998' started by big_duc, Mar 9, 2023.

  1. Greetings Aficianados,

A vital piece of information for those, like me, that do a great deal of two-up riding, sometimes abroad, often for as much as three weeks. The maximum gross weight [not the tech spec of the bike] isn't easily found - hence my request.

Clearly, there is a ceiling for two persons, a fully stocked Krug rucksack and others!

Could one of the experts please advise exactly what that figure is as declared by Ducati for its 1997 748 Biposto model.

    Grazie mille.

  2. The 748 biposta “carrying full load” figure is 375kg which I believe includes the “dry weight”. So I’d suggest a maximum combined rider/pillion/back pack weight of approximately 170kg. Andy

  3. Great stuff Andy,
Many thanks for this contribution :)

  4. Be grateful you don’t ride a 748 monoposta with an aluminium rear subframe (the biposta is steel), the full carrying load on that is 60kg less :joy: Andy
