Anyone had any issues with panel alignment etc? Tried to fit some DP carbon side covers and one fits and the other is a mile out Phoned dealer and they said they should fit the 959 but they're a very poor fit some times The mechanic did say with some adjustment of panels they can usually get them to fit but somethings not... Seems strange as one side fits perfect and the other side is miles away but the lanel gaps etc look even so can't see a problem with the fairing.
Not what you'd expect from DP carbon considering the price of it. Some will argue it's better to buy the genuine stuff as it fits better and has a better finish and doesn't flake or discolour, but from my experience of having a mixture of both DP and non genuine carbon on my bike I've found this is not strictly true with non genuine carbon being as good as DP at a fraction of the price and in a few cases the genuine DP has been harder to fit. Sometimes the problem with fitting is that the plastic part that's being replaced can flexed into position whereas carbon is rigid and doesn't bend, so it can sometimes be the case that the carbon part can be a perfect fit but the problem is getting it in place first.
I too have some genuine and some eBay carbon and the genuine stuff is certainly no better that's for sure. I want to find another bike to try them on to see if it's the panel of the bike which is the problem. I may have a go at sanding it down to shape but you wouldn't expect to have to do this from genuine parts.
